MOBILISE: A Higher?Order Integration of Collective Action Research to Address Global Challenges

The past decade has witnessed rapid growth in popular protest, alongside an upsurge research on collective action. proliferation of been both productive and fragmenting: We have excellent understanding the many factors that shape participation action, but we lack a framework explains how these fit together. Model Belonging, Individual differences, Life experience Interaction Sustaining Engagement (MOBILISE) addresses this gap to explain when, why, how, for whom, action manifests. MOBILISE suggests is shaped by individual differences (micro) life experiences which, separately combination, lead formation group consciousness (meso) via collectivization grievance. Group is, turn, proximal predictor Collective itself outcomes people (dis/empowerment) societies. These micro meso processes occur context macro societal relating cultural, political, economic environment. highlights transformational role interaction explaining global reach rapidity with which movements can form.
